Ok if I was to pick an invaluable piece of equipment it was a small collapsable bath - which you could place into the kitchen sink !!! You filled it up with water and simply placed the baby into it - totally safe and ideal for babies up to 4months! Sadly never saw or found another one again - as I thought they would make great baby gifts !! ;D

My favourite bit of equipment was my pram, a Mamas and Papas one - it was a present and lasted for all my children. After that it got converted into a go-cart and gave endless pleasure to all the kids in our area going up and down the road. It did eventually die......

ok, well something not to buy is: a nappy bin. I got this thingy for putting used nappies in: you basically but the soiled nappy in it, twist the top and close the lid. Then, when it was full, this long sausage shape of soiled nappies uncoiled from it's innards, and with clenched nose, you put it in the bin. Today, we have scented nappy bags and it's no less hassle to put it in the outside bin then into this contraption. FOR SALE: 1 X nappy disposal unit lol
The most useful thing I had was a travel cot - it doubled as a play pen or just somewhere to put the baby while I dashed to the loo or hung washing on the line.
