school runs as follows:- Reception Year 1 and 2 (infants) Year 3 - 6 (juniors) Charlottes infants and junior school is combined, but I know my cousin who lives in York had to go to another school for Year 3 onwards Years 7 - 12 (I think) it was 6 years at secondary school when I was there, leaving at age 16. Some schools have a "6th" form - but not sure what thats called now. Im not update with secondary education tbh. I know when I left, you either started college or work, we didnt have a year off or work experience. Please dont quote me as Im not sure how things work now - Im sure it will be here before I know it - eeekkkk

This is interesting 'cos I just met a mother the other day who is determind to send her daughter to school next year - but the daughter will only be 4 in June! Doesn't that sound too young or is it just me - do I give advice or keep my mouth shut ?

You are right 4 in August is too young to be sending them to school in my opinion - and so you could have a chat with her rather than telling her what she should do After all there is so much more to school than just learning subjects and doing homework.
