Just thought I would ask what any of you think of sleepovers. My older DS was never interested in them but my younger two would love them. Now that birthdays are coming up (they are near each other), they both want to have sleepovers. But honestly I think at 8 and 10 they are too young and it also sounds like a huge amount of extra work. Any suggestions as I don't want to disappoint them either?

I havent got to this stage yet, but Im assuming, giggly kids trying to stay awake all night and pizza and dvd. Are you thinking of a group of friends? - perhaps just try one each at first to test the water?

Yes thats a great idea - sometimes 'less' is best ! Trying one friend at a time - this way you can see how it goes - rather than have loads of kids over and it becoming too much for everyone. But I would suggest have a chat with your kids first of all - set some boundaries around - treats, DVD and bedtime. A 'no rules' policy only causes chaos - and believe me no one will benefit in the end - not the kids and especially not you. Good luck.

My mother had a thing about sleepovers and so they were totally banned in our house, which I think now looking back was a pity. Its always nice to try different things and I think I would have enjoyed having and going to sleepovers.
