Not too long ago my baby son started on solids and it seemed to be going great except now, at least twice a week - he vomits his dinner all up. Whats happening - is this normal or should i take him to the doctor ?? What amazes me though is after he gets sick he seems to feel much better and smiles even ?? Puzzled Mother !!!!!!

Firstly awww bless him smiling afterwards - kids are so resiliant(sp). As for normal mmMMmm a hard one to say. You know your son and if hes ill and your worried get him checked over. Is there a pattern as to what foods he cant stomach? or is it after hes drank a lot of milk? or perhaps his eyes are bigger than his tummy? Does he suffer from constipation / diarrhoea as well as sickness ? Id see how he goes if no other symptons (high temp etc) and hes happy in him self but if things continue get the gp to take a look at him. Does he cry out in any pain before being sick or anything like that? Good luck and hope he settles soon x

Great tips there Rachel. I am not an expert on medical issues - but for what its worth - my son did the same for ages ! He would eat his food so fast that it would come up straight away - it drove me crazy as it created an awful mess. But like you Ann, he was fine after it (having said that getting him checked out medically is a very good idea). It did stop though at around 18mts - sorry if that seems a lifetime away to you now !!! But if I was to do it again - I would feed him more slowly and not in the huge quantities he seemed to love. Let us know how you get on.

Much better Rachel. I did bring him to the doctor (he was due a check up anyway) and he said that he was fine. I find that feeding him much slower has made such a difference. At the moment its only around once a week - which is fine. thanks for asking. ;D ;D
